My skin has always been a troublesome area for me, I find that just as I think I have got it under control… bam the spots come back! For me and many others this can be crippling, your face is what people see first when they look at you. The first thing I see when I look at my face are my spots. This is why I am always on the lookout for items which will help my acne.

Recently I have had another flare-up and I have been trying some new products to combat it. The first one on my list is the new L’Oreal Paris, Pure Clay Blemish Rescue Mask. Now the reason I bought this item isn’t because I had heard great things or someone recommended it to me. It was purely down to advertising and a promotional offer, I when I went into Boots and saw it was on offer so I couldn’t resist!

Now there were a few to choose from, the range now includes:

Along with each of these the main components in every mask are:

So basically, there are a lot of amazing ingredients in these masks! As mentioned I am having a problem with blemishes so purchased the Blemish Rescue Mask.

L’Oreal claims that you will be able to see results after one use:

Immediately – Skin is fresh, pores have shrunk and blemishes reduced

Use for one week – Blackheads are unclogged, skin is mattified

Use after use – Pores are cleared, skin is visibly transformed

I can’t yet say that my skin is visibly transformed as I don’t think I have been using the product long enough, but I can say that I saw results after the first use.

I noticed was that the red angry spots which I had before, weren’t so angry and that the redness had definitely been reduced. Which is a win in my book. As for the other claims, I don’t think that my skin is more mattified but I would say that the number of blackheads on my nose have reduced. I think after more use I could see more results which excites me!

Often people are looking for that fast fix with skincare which usually never happens. If you had bad skin then it is a process to finding what works well for you, and then letting it happen, your skin will not be transformed overnight. This is why I really like that L’Oreal says what you should find from each type of use, if you don’t use it as often as they say then you won’t see the best results!

The texture of this mask is lovely, it is very smooth and almost silky in feeling. A little goes a long way and I haven’t made much of a dent in the pot yet even though I use it twice a week!

It dries into a beautiful metallic blue shade, which I would love to buy some piece of clothing in it! It does dry slightly tight but I don’t mind that feeling. My skin feels really hydrated once I rinse it off. There isn’t much of a specific smell, but it doesn’t smell bad and the scent it does have is not overly powerful once it is on your face.

On to the packaging, which I love, sometimes with cheaper items you can tell from the packaging that they cost less, but with the clay masks, that isn’t the case. While the box they come in is quite generic, just with the usual branding on the outside, the jar that actually contains the mask feels really secure and more premium.

I would definitely recommend this product to people, especially if you are having acne issues!! What is your holy grail skincare product? Anything you recommend me trying?

Hello everyone how have you all been?

This weekend while I was shopping for my sisters birthday present I noticed that Clinique has a gift promotion on when you brought two or more products. Now if you read my post about how I cured my acne HERE you will know that I religiously use my Clinique products day and night. So when I saw I was coming to the end of my clarifying lotion I knew I had to buy more very shortly. Now I always find it very hard not to buy two products when these promotions are on, what can I say if I am given the opportunity to buy more I do let’s just say I need no encouragement.

So while I knew that I was going to get another Anti-Blemish Solutions Clarifying Lotion but I was really unsure about what to get as my second product. I am going on holiday very shortly and therefore I do not want to be wearing foundation while I am there and have been looking into various BB creams, when I saw that Clinique offered one I decided that it would be my second product. I have not yet tried it as but if you are interested in a review of the product then leave a comment below.

According to the packet the BB Cream can be worn alone or as a primer. I am very interested in seeing what it is like as a primer as this is not a use I was intending to use it for, so if it is a good primer it will be an added bonus. Clinique say that it has a ‘long-wearing, oil-control formula’ which is ‘appropriate for all skin types’.

Now onto the free gift, I always get excited when a free gift is offered even though I know that the gift is always the same kind of thing with maybe a few changes.

Take the day off makeup remover for lids, lashes and lips – This is a product that you get in most of the Clinique free gifts, therefore it is something that I have used before and I do genuinely like apart from the fact that it is slightly greasy once applied. It really does take off even the toughest mascara, but I can honestly say that I have not tried using it to take makeup off my lips.

Repairwear Laser Focus Wrinkle & UV Damage Corrector – This is a serum which is meant to be ‘A second chance for every skin with wrinkles’ this product is meant to reduce the appearance of wrinkles.

Moisture Surge Face Spray – I am very excited to try this product on holiday, it is an oil-free facial spray and is meant to restore the moisture balance within the skin.

All about eyes – Clinique markets this product to reduce the appearance of ‘puffs, circles, fine lines and shadows’ I have very dark circles under my eyes and I have to say even though this has come within many of the free gifts it is a product that I have never used. I am therefore very excited to try it.

Sparkle Skin Body Exfoliating Cream – For an exfoliant this cream does not have very big granules within so I imagine that it will not give a very harsh exfoliation but Clinique claims that it ‘rubs away persistent dullness, flakiness’

Deep Comfort Body Butter – I am excited to try this body butter as I get particually dry elbows, which is a problem that this product is meant to target. I am slightly disappointed with the smell though as it does not have any significant smell.

If you want reviews of any of these products just leave a comment bellow and I hope that you all have had a wonderful day J

This weekend has been spent traveling all over the place, across the county (which I guess isn't that bad n England). When packing to go anywhere I always get that scared feeling of leaving something important behind, that it why I have to scan a place about three times before my paranoia is settled.

Alas even with all of this checking I still manage to leave things behind, this time it was my Clinique face soap. Now for me this is a very important part of my daily ritual. I have always suffered with bad acne, sometimes it has got so bad that I have had to go medication, anyone that does suffer badly I would recommend going to your doctor as they can do something for you.

After trying some different treatments the one that finally worked for me was a combination of a cream called PanOxyl and a set of tablets called Tetralysal, luckily the medication worked, I now have relatively nice skin and have the mission to keep it that way.

I have tried many skin care products over the years but the one that I have found works the best for my skin and my skin type is the Clinique Anti-Blemish Solutions which is a special part of their 3-step skin care regime  this consists of a Cleansing Bar, Clarifying Lotion and a Clearing Moisturizer. Recently I have been substituting the Clearing Moisturizer for the Re-Gen cream which so far has been a good change but I will do another blog on it after I have used it for slightly longer.

I do recommend this set of products by Clinique to anyone having a problem with their skin and want some recommendations of things to try.  As I have said this is just what works for me and everyone has different skin so another combination might work for you. Clinique also have very good assistants at their stands so do go talk to one to work out a set that work for your skin type.

As I use this product everyday twice a day you can understand that I had to go straight out and buy myself a new one, the silver lining to this is I now have one at home and with me at university (YAY).

Do you have any products that you could not live without? If so what are they?
