Hello all of you lovely people, Todays post is all about my top three favourite lipsticks. Now as everyone knows ranking ones favourite lipsticks can be an impossible task although for me there are three certain ones that jump out at me.

Surprisingly enough my favourite three come from all areas of the financial scale, the first being a MAC lipstick called Angel which cost £15 (even though it did not cost that when I brought it!).

Now I do know that this lipstick either looks lovely on or makes you look sickly, this lipstick is definitely a winter shade for me as I have recently discovered this summer that while I have a tan it is not a flattering colour.

This lipstick is meant to be a frost finish which according to MAC means that it has ‘an excellent colour payoff with medium to high frosted shimmer-and-shine finish’. Although this is the category which MAC has placed Angel, it does not have a dramatic frost finish I would say that it has a slight pearly finish instead of being frosty.

What I love about it is that it is a lovely baby pink shade which can be worn everyday adding to a natural look, I find that it just finishes off my makeup nicely.

The next lipstick on my list is the Rimmel lasting finish by Kate Moss in shade 01, now when I brought this lipstick is was more of a spur of the moment decision as this deep red shade was definitely out of my comfort zone!

I find reds quite hard to wear as I have to make sure that they contain blue undertones, as red/orange undertones just look weird on me. When I saw this I decided to try it out as let’s face it £5.49 will not break the bank if I decide that I don’t like it.

I would say that this lipstick is more of a cherry red colour with a sheen finish to it, the formula is quite pigmented and leaves a slight stain on the lips. It also has a sweet scent to it initially which then disperses once you apply it.

I really love this lipstick as it is a gorgeous shade which is good for people that might have a hard time finding reds to suite them, I would recommend this as a good starter red.

My final favourite is a real bargain and if you haven’t tried one of these then I strongly suggest that you do as it only cost £1, and you can’t go wrong with a pound.

It is the MUA (Makeup Academy) lipstick in shade 3 which has a lovely creamy texture to it and glides across the lips effortlessly.

It results in a semi- matte finish and is highly pigmented leaving a slight stain to the lips. One down side to this lipstick is that it does cling to dry patches so I advise that you should exfoliate them top avoid this and moisturize before applying this lipstick as the formula is slightly drying.

This lipstick has great staying power and I find that it once applied , it lasts through lots of eating and drinking which is great is you plan on going out with it on your lips J

I hope that you liked seeing my top three lipsticks. What I want to know is what are yours? Are any of yours similar to mine?

I have finally come to the realisation that you need to pay a little bit more on certain products in order to have healthy, good looking skin. I feel that foundation is one of these products as you wear it every day, I have previously been using No7 Beautifully Matte Foundation from boots and I am greatly disappointed with it one of the main things with this foundation that I was unhappy with was that it has warm undertones so while essentially the primary colours within the foundation matched my skin tone my skin always ended up with a reddish tint to it and the coverage did not last all day.

One of the places that I tried was MAC, I have previously had many MAC makeovers and loved the end result especially the coverage of the base products. At first the MAC counter was quite busy so I went to the foundation section to look at the selection, it was not long before I was asked if I needed any help.

I am not afraid to say that apart from the research I have don’t online I am a little but clueless when it comes to the many varieties of MAC foundations, due to having been a long buyer of pharmacy (or drugstore if you are American) foundations but I explained what I wanted from my foundation to the sales assistant in a vague way. She sat me down an explained what in her opinion would be the best match for me and my skin type, what really reassured me way that right away she noted the cool undertones in my skin and steered me towards the cooler colours.

The first foundation applied we both agreed that it was slightly too dark, now some of the make-up counters that I have been to previously tried one foundation on me and then proceeded to insist that it was ‘the prefect’ shade for my skin tone and gone in for the hard sell, but at MAC they did not do this so we tried a second shade which we both agreed was a really good match for my skin.  She applied the foundation to my skin and I then went away to see how it would wear during the day.

Here are some tips when buying foundation:

I am really pleased with the service that I got from mac and I will defiantly be going back to get the foundation.

What has your experiences with MAC been? And what foundations do you recommend?

Hello all with the start of a new uni year comes a lot of expenses, there are things like storage units and TV cabinets that need to be brought therefore you need to prioritise the things that you buy. This is not something I am claiming to be good at in actual fact I have very little self-control.

To try and stop myself from buying the various things I want I am creating a wish list, maybe it will stop me obsessing about them J So these are the products in my September wish list:

The first on my list is one that got on it due to seeing many people rave about it. It is the La Roche Posay Effaclar Duo which is an acne treatment, as you all know I at times have quite bad acne every now and then I get another flair up which needs sorting my miracle cream at the moment is sudocrem but I really want to try this product.

Next up is the Urban Decay De-slick Mattifying powder, right now I am using Rimmel stay matte powder and I do find that this really works but I am always looking for something new to try to help keep my oily skin at bay from the reviews I have read this might do the trick.

Now this product is one that I can’t believe I haven’t got round to trying it is the Liz Earl Cleanse and Polish Hot Cloth Cleanser which as we all know is a cult beauty product. At first I was slightly dubious of this item as it is the same for all skin types but after reading a lot about it I have been persuaded that it is something I need to try. According to the Liz Earl twitter team ‘Our Cleanse & Polish is ideal as it helps to reduce sebum levels and limits the amount of spot-causing bacteria.’ They also have a really good returns and refund policy

.

As I have said on here before I think that MUA is amazing value for money as they have incredibly pigmented products it is for this reason that when I was browsing through their bush colours that two have made it onto my wish list and at only £1 each I will be buying them very soon.

My final product is one that I have wanted all though summer and it is a MAC eye shadow in the colour cranberry. I am obsessed with this colour for autumn so I will inevitably not be able to resist the urge to purchase this.

I Hoped you enjoyed my wish list have you tried any of these products? If so what did you think? Also what is on your September wish list ? J

Hello lovely internet people, how are you after the glorious may bank holiday weekend that we had?

I don’t know about you but I find bank holidays very busy and this one proved to be no different. During the course of the weekend I have found that I bought some new items that I want to share with you in my first haul post J

The First purchase that I want to mention is my new electric toothbrush, I am stupidly excited about this because as you can see it is pink!! What more do you want from a tooth brush if it is pink. I have been after a new electric toothbrush for some time and have noticed that they can be quite expensive, therefore when I saw this one in Superdrug for better than half price it just could not say no. It also came with a handy travel case for the toothbrush which I am very happy with and a toothbrush head.

Now my second splurge of the bank holiday weekend was a new pair of sandals, what can I say the sun was shining and I felt summery. I really love these they are from Clarks and are called Sail Cruise. They have a super soft cushion sole and come in coral suede, black patent and the nude patent colour which was the one that caught my eye the most as I think I will be able to wear them with all different types of outfits.  As you can see they also have a twisted diamante pattern on the T-bar which were a plus for me as I love a bit of sparkle in my life.

Next on my list of buys came after I went into Superdrug with my sister, having no intention of buying anything only to be sucked in my MUA’s insanely good value for money products. A quick trip into the store turned into about half an hour of me swatching various products deciding which to for in the 3 for 2 deal. Eventually I decided upon one of their £1 lipstick in shade 3. Now I LOVE LOVE this lipstick, the shade is amazing, it smells great (weird I know), its super pigmented and it has great staying power. Now I regrettably do have quite dry lips so with most lipsticks I have to apply something to nourish my lips beforehand, this makes sure that my lips stay moisturised while the lipstick is on.

Along with the lipstick I also brought two nail varnishes from the £1 range, This range has so many amazing colours in it and it took me a while to narrow it down to two but in the end I decided upon Pistachio ice cream, which is my favourite a lovely minty blue/green colour and Plum Noir which is on the pinkish end of the plum scale. They are two beautiful shades and I am in the process of testing them at the moment.

My final big spend of the weekend was on something that I have been planning on buying for a while, now me and my sister have this weird thing of buying our foundation together as most of the time we need to buy some at the same time. We both have found that the process of testing different brands is a lot more fun with someone else, also matching the colour is very important and I trust no one more than my sister to tell me the truth about if a colour matches my skin tone.

I ended up buying MAC’s Studio Fix Fluid in NC15 with SPF 15, I have only had it for a couple of days but so far I love it and it is definitely the right shade for me. One annoying factor is that you do have to buy the pump separately but once you have it you don’t need to buy it again, unless it breaks.

Have you brought anything over the weekend if so what?
